Novel Studio Tours Bring Parents Out for Inspiring Evening Experiences

Sono-Ma’s Studio Soiree on March 24th engaged local artisans, parents, and art enthusiasts in an inspiring evening.  Now it’s your turn to be experience a special photo tour of the novel event:

The Fairy Museum

Marc Feyh’s whimsical fairy world (The Fairy Museum) creations takes our minds to a place of wonder…”Could fairies actually exist?” you’ll find yourself pondering as you see his fairy open and shut her door and then turn on the lights in each room in her house.

This engineer, world traveler, and father of two found innovative new uses for copper, driftwood, acorns, and moss – sometimes with an added microchip processor doing work behind the scenes. Whether touring his museum of artifacts or playing with his glitter apothecary sets, all are delighted by Marc’s ethereal creations.

Night Heron Woodworks

Paul Kaiser inspired awe at the amazing community workspace he created via his wood working shop cum gallery at Singing Frogs Farm.  Guests arriving to the farm exclaimed over the freshly wet and lush landscape of the beyond organic farm, and then fell into a reverent silence as they explored Paul’s Night Heron Woodworks‘ studio.

Paul built his expansive workspace to accommodate not only his own wood working projects, but also to allow space for fellow wood workers and other artists to work or display their art. The dreamy space includes huge picture windows over looking his farm and West County valleys, 20 foot white gallery walls with lighting, a sanding room, finishing room…. all incredible as a backdrop and setting for an event like our soireé.

Paul’s breathtaking salvaged wood work pieces had guests of all ages reaching out to touch the grains of his wood pieces.  Many utter surprise at the inherent beauty abounding in his wooden treasure boxes, cheese boards and larger furniture pieces.

Guests

Even a rain storm can’t keep local parents and art enthusiasts home when a Thursday evening soireè is planned.

Couples taking time for a “date night”, fellow wood workers who wanted to see Paul’s grandiose working space, friends, and other local parent-preneurs all turned out for an evening of sharing ideas,  food, conversation, and more.

Exciting conversations and connections took place as more than forty people discovered common interests such as traveling adventures or future  life goals.

Novelties

In Harmony Goddess Traditions once again took guests by the hand.  By the end of the evening almost every guest touted a lovely henna design…

Food

Exquisite chocolate sampling – offered by local Chocolatier Doug Peters of Peters Chocolates – lifted spirits and offered a decadent treat.

Redwood Hill Creamery provided a generous sampling of cheeses, yogurts, and Kefir.  The Fire Roasted Chevre was a huge hit with guests who enjoyed this soft, flavorful goat cheese spread….

My Pantry Shelf’s Karen W. served up the cheeses with her delectable mango chutney as a topping.  This local food blogger-mother-teacher also took the time to bake up some fabulous short bread cookies, which she topped with her popular lemon curd.  Pick up your recipes here to recreate this fabulous eating experience again and again!

Prizes

Every guest entered a raffle, with many vying for a chance to win this kids’ couture velvet jacket made by Marali Creations.

At the end of the evening, guests went home with a swag bag of chocolates, cheese knives, paper doll kits, and other fun give aways…
