Grab your sunscreen and family day pack, Sonoma County Festival season is here!
Our county’s artisans, musicians, farmers, innovators, and tinkers gather to create unique community events sure to inspire and entertain.
Sono-Ma invites your family to come out and join the fun, beginning with the upcoming “Share Fair on 5th Street” on July 10, 2011. Later, don your Huck fin hat and suspenders for Rivertown Revival fun in Petaluma on July 30, 2011. Have a parasol, corset, or fedora? If so, you’ve got the basic costume elements needed for the Handcar Regatta on September 25, 2011. Still looking for festival fun in October? Don’t miss the new West County Art and Garden festival. Details for all this and more shared on Sono-Ma here:
What is the Share Fair on 5th Street?

“The 5th Street Share Fair is designed to support the goals of the Share Exchange, an incubator of ideas for a new local economy- to share, reuse and exchange resources amongst neighbors to promote a friendlier world.” The event is planned for July 10, 2011 from 11:00 – 4:00.
With a focus on kids, art and sharing, the Fair will bring 5th Street merchants and restaurants out into the streets along with artists, musicians, inventors, and mad tinkerers. Vendors and entertainment will fill 5th street between B Street and D Street.
“We are looking forward to a fun day filled with live music, performing arts, sculpture exhibits, juried arts and craft vendors, and food,” shares Share Fair co-founder Debbie Rameriz.
Sono-Ma recommends stopping by the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County booth for engaging discoveries. Then make your way over to the Wooley Wood Works booth to find adorable tot sized furniture (such as our beloved work bench) and sophisticated hand crafted home accessories. Don’t miss doing some summer clothing shopping for your wee ones with Sono-Ma friends Sugarberry Clothing and Awakening Dreams, too!
Visit the Support Tent
Sono-Ma and community partners plan to greet you at the Share Fair with a family friendly “support” space. Find comfort, nursing support, and information at our shady pavilion.
Taking inspiration from the Mom’s Breastaruant movement, our local Support Tent provides families with a space to nurture healthy families. From space to nurse, a diaper changing station, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, water, samples of locally made products, and stellar local resource information – it’s no wonder families left last year’s tent expressing heart felt thanks!
“Thanks to you, we could truly enjoy our festival experience!” shares one visiting family who made use of the free sun screen and shady resting space with kids toys.
